so while installing nt 3.51 use these steps:
- you need 3.51 iso, and the iso is unbootable you also need a ms-dos floppy, take warez ms-dos 7.10 as an example
- boot into ms-dos, install until fat was created and formatted, then cancel the installation
- dive into the cd and
cd i386then runwinnt /b, then windows nt’s boot environment will be created - notice that perhaps you can only change your hd using txtsetup or earlier, at least i tried to swap cd and hd together and caused a bugcheck
btw 86box’s cdrom emulation sucks in 8.3 filenames on nt 3.51, and perhaps it’s not 86box’s fault, it’s 7z/rar’s fault, so used a cd image to install vc++4.2
edit: also the hd size is suggested at 504MB (1024/16/63)
edit: don’t forget to lock c: before running winnt in 7.10 bootdisk
